2017 RESOURCES FOR REVISION

The following list of resources have been identified by your teachers as being the most useful for your forthcoming examinations. In addition to the resources below, the WJEC website contains a wide range of past papers for all subjects and mark schemes.  The Exam Review section is also very useful as it enables you to look at papers completed by learners in previous years and see comments examiners have made.

Revision tips

Reading a revision guide is not an effective way of taking information in. You need to do something with the information. Find a method that works for you.

1) Mind maps enable you to condense information and link it together.

2) Create your own revision cards. Write a question on one side and the answer on the other. Use them to test your knowledge.

3) Teach someone else. This will help you to remember the information better and it doesn’t matter if the person you are teaching has little/no knowledge of the subject.

4) Take plenty of breaks. You will remain more focused if you revise for 20-30 minutes at a time and then take a short break.

5) Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

6) Find a quiet place to study.
